Welll....I disagree with this. I think gender matters a lot, but not in the way most people think. It's not a thing like "men are better at X and women are better at Y", but I think society does itself a disservice by not recognizing that men and women are different and that each brings different things to the table, the same way that mother and fathers each have unique and valuable gifts (values, ideas, behaviors, etc) to bestow upon their children.
Then there will be true acceptance and partnership instead of competition between the sexes.
Personally, I think we can admit to and respect the differences between the genders and still have true partnership. Unfortunately, in many cases our society is set up and structured to make men and women adversaries instead of partners.
Hope I live long enough to see it.
