If you could live in a differnt country where would you live?

For me (not counting my future country Canada)

I'd live in Norway or Sweden.  I like the way the look on life and the quietness of the place.  A lot of Norweigns say Norway is boring, but to me boring is good.

For example I've never seen such a more beautiful city (a city I will go to school for a semister in a couple years) than Bergen, Norway.  Some Pacific Northwesterners would feel right at home in Bergen, it rains 200 days out of the year and doesn't really get super cold like you would think.

That is a hard question since I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world and own property further north "away from it all".  I'm pretty happy here...  And I'm not even done exploring my own Province, let alone my country...

  However..

  If I were to stretch my imagination to move elsewhere I would also choose Sweden or Switzerland for several reasons.  They are close to areas of the world that I want to explore and it would be much easier from over there, as far as I know, both rank high as far as social/healthcare programs and economy goes.  I also like to see the seasons change and love skiing, so that rules out countries with endless summer.  From either of those countries, I could dart all over Europe and have a blast.

Yeah, British Columbia rules. I when I finally get to college next year (not this coming but after that) I plan on using my free time to explore B.C. Fascinated by it.

  But whenever I dream of a heaven like place my mind seems at ease when I think of Norway for some reason.  I've got this picture in my head of me living in the mountains with a wife and kids just enjoying myself living off the land and living with peace in the heart and mind.  Another dream I get a lot is started by those huge condo buildings in downtown vancouver. Something about them make me tick for some reason.

Other than my obvious reply...
I'd love to live in Spain or Portugal. Lots of paella and flamenco for me please. Siesta - taking a few hours off during the hot part of the day so you could then easily stay up all night. Easy access to the rest of Europe.

I know sportdude will rant me out for this, but I would move back to the States.

I grew up in Vancouver, but lived in the Bay Area for awhile, and when I lived there, I was treated like gold. the neighbors I had took me as if I was a long lost relative.

  I think it all depends on which part of the USA a person would choose to live in. I love Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, parts of Montana..(the mountain part). No hurry to leave Canada though.

I don't have a problem with Pacific Northwest. In fact I've said many times to my friends if the U.S. wants to keep me as a citzen of the country the only part that can "save me" is the Pacific Northwest. But I don't know if Washington can stop me because my wanting of British Columbia is slowly taking all the room in my heart.

Oh I love BC too. I am actually thinking about moving back soon. I can get a really good price on my house here and I am thinking North Okanagan/Shuswap area. I hope to never live in Vancouver again. Great city to visit, I just lived there too many years and its too crowded. Prefer having some quiet beach space. But I agree, as $$$ as it is, BC rules!

I kinda like crowded. Growing up in suburbia makes you feel isolated from the city. As long as I can bike to a park (probly would use the sea wall to stanley) I'd be in heaven. And on a cold drizzling day. Ahhhh, that's the picture I have in my head.

Yeah, if you are into a nice city, Vancouver is great. I loved it when I was in my late teens and early 20s. Its a great town and great access to the outdoors too. I also live in the inner city of Calgary, and it is pretty sweet too. I am just yearning for a couple acres by a lake, trees, quiet.
