[/p] These vintage rigs from the 30's to the 70's are either in amazing original condition, or have been carefully restored. They're pretty interesting. Most models are from Dutch and Belgian brands, including Mustaerts (aka Mutsy] and Koelstra [who once announced a retro-style stroller, the K73, sort of the New Beetle of strollers. Or maybe the New Thunderbird, since it dropped off the radar so fast.][/p]  Silver Cross and Wilson are also represented, but my favorite has to be [a href="vny!://www.ouderwetse-kinderwagens.nl/mapwagens/Diversen/Helvetia.htm"]this curvy, Swiss-made lowrider from 1959 called the Helvetia[/a]. It takes design cues from cars, and it happens to be one of the few strollers actually available at the moment [EUR450].[/p]  [div align="center"][img alt="giordani_brevetatto_stroller.jpg" src="vny!://daddytypes.com/archive/giordani_brevetatto_stroller.jpg" height="300" width="400"][/div]  Think that's a little pricey? Then you won't want to see the price on this even sweeter [a href="vny!://www.cmodern.com/new/updated/item.cfm?item=477"]1950's Giordani  carriage called the Brevetatto[/a], which is in original condition--chrome bumper and all--at Cincinnati Modern gallery for $2,800.[/p][a href="vny!://daddytypes.com/archive/2006/05/15/vintage_stroller_dealers.php"]vny!://daddytypes.com/archive/2006/05/15/vintage_stroller_dealers.php[/a]

The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

The Brevetatto is a beautiful buggy.  Looks like the Porche of the pram world.

They're so out of fashion that they're back in.

Of course there is, Gopher.  Antiques are valuable!  [img onmouseover="this.style.backgroundColor='#C6D3EF';this.style.border='1px solid #3169C6'; " style="BORDER-RIGHT: #3169c6 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: #3169c6 1px solid; BORDER-LEFT: #3169c6 1px solid; CURSOR: pointer; BORDER-BOTTOM: #3169c6 1px solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #c6d3ef" onclick="InsertImage('/forums/richedit/smileys/Teasing/12.gif');" onmouseout="this.style.backgroundColor=''; this.style.border=''" src="vny!://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Teasing/12.gif" align=absMiddle]

True!  I want you to feel comfortable about the "Golden Years".  *when you get there*

They look like they belong on a movie set.

Speaking from experience, those strollers aren't the most pratical. Hell, I need one that will support my cellphone, Starbuck latte, keys, diaper bags.... the works. Oh and add in a rocket propeller too.

Oh god Lise don't tell me your one of those moms.

Lise

Hehe. My stroller is not top of the line but it's one that's outfitted to hold most items. And no, I don't go for the Italian stuff. I'm not into that. So long as the stroller is durable, can handle bumps, I'll but one.

Now I have to think about buying a double stroller for upcoming junior. No fun considering it's like driving a big truck in narrow lanes.

LoL. I understand. I mostly meant somebody who drops 500 bucks or something on a stroller and takes it out to the park just to show off.

Lise

Oh yah. Are you kidding me? The first thing they check out is what brand your stroller is. Seriously. I don't get that stuff. I don't compare apples and bananas... geez as long as the stroller is safe and does its job, it should be good enough.

I was a fisher-price kid.

Poor Lise, having to wheel a double stroller around Metrotown on a weekend.  I don't envy you one little bit!
