World's Tallest Man Marries

[span class="storytext"]  [/p]BEIJING Mar 28, 2007 (AP)— After searching high and low, the  world's tallest man has married a woman two-thirds his height, a Chinese  newspaper reported Wednesday. [/p]    Bao Xishun, a 7-foot-9 herdsman from Inner Mongolia, married 5-foot-6  saleswoman Xia Shujian several days ago, the Beijing News reported.
Bao's 28-year-old bride is half his age and hailed from his hometown of  Chifeng even though marriage advertisements were sent around the world, it said.
"After a long and careful selection, the effort has been finally paid off,"  the newspaper said.
Bao was confirmed last year by the Guinness Book of World Records as the  world's tallest person. [/p][/span][a href="http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory?id=2987525&CMP=OTC-RSSFeeds0312"]Rest of the storie here[/a]

I wish them lots of happiness.

Fat dog's owners on cruelty charge

11½ stone Labrador was unable to walk
Owners allegedly ignored vet's advice

Obesity has become such an issue of political incorrectness that two brothers appeared in court yesterday charged with allowing a dog to get too fat.

Rusty, a nine-year-old Labrador, may only have been doing what Labradors do, which is to eat everything in sight. But he ballooned to more than 11½ stone (161lb, 73kg), the ideal weight for a large-boned 6ft (1.82m) woman, but not a retriever, which should be chasing sticks and newly shot game.

Rusty had trouble standing up, and after no more than five paces he had to sit down again, breathless. He looked, magistrates at Ely, Cambridgeshire, were told yesterday, more like a seal than a dog.

Hmm...Are we being to kind? Are we killing our pets with kindness? Should animal welfare organizations take owners to court , just for over feeding there pet?

I say people should and must get Prosecuted.

Discover Seattle! / Dyslexia

[P class=MsoNormal]I was looking around some forums the other day and some grammar cops were correcting people's grammar/spelling mistakes for the smallest of reasons; half of these grammar cops were even making mistakes themselves, lol.

So it started me thinking about my nephew, who is 17 years old, Tim (not he's real name) found out he had dyslexia when he was about eight years old. [SPAN] [/SPAN]His reading and writing skills are not to good, however, give him a car engine and he can strip it down and put it back together very quickly...he is also a very good artist.      [P class=MsoNormal][O:P][/O:P]How many people on this forum suffer from Dyslexia?

 [P class=MsoNormal]How has it affected your childhood/adulthood?

[P class=MsoNormal]How has it affected you on the employment front?

   [P class=MsoNormal][O:P][/O:P]
What is dyslexia?
[P class=MsoNormal]Dyslexia causes difficulties in learning to read, write and spell. Short-term memory, mathematics ability, concentration, personal organisation and sequencing may also be affected.  Dyslexia usually arises from a weakness in the processing of language-based information. Biological in origin, it tends to run in families, but environmental factors also contribute to it.  Dyslexia can occur at any level of intellectual ability. It is not the result of poor motivation, emotional disturbance, sensory impairment or lack of opportunities, but it may occur alongside any of these.   The effects of dyslexia can be largely overcome by skilled specialist teaching and the use of compensatory strategies
