I've never worked for a company that had such a structure with seperate depts. Just to name a few, we have a HR dept, IT, Call Centre, Marketing, Sales Team, Legal....
Some Managers don't get along with each other.

At my current job, I sit right by the window and I face north. I enjoy sitting by the window because I get to stare outside and check out the weather.
With my new place, I'm in the middle and don't get to see outside....but that's ok.
Right now, Human Resources and my Manager have to discuss a release date for me. They need at least two weeks notice but my current Manager may need more time. I'll let you guys know when I start as soon as I sign my job offer.
They are going to realize how valuable I am to this dept when I leave...I just know it and feel it.
I think I'll have two jobs for several months, at least. I will keep my same email address so will have my other work stuff while I transition into this one. My contacts will miss me for sure as much as I will miss them. I don't mind two jobs and helping my new replacement for however long they need.
I'll definitely have the privacy to post on DS, moreso there than here. :)
I just signed my acceptance letter and will start December 1! WOOHOO!
