You could well find your gender to be a good selling point too - a little old lady who might be a bit wary of employing a young man as a gardener would probably feel a lot safer and happier to have a female gardener.

Have you ever thought of doing that? I know that people who advertise gardening services round here can make a fair bit of money out of it, and your start-up costs would be minimal.
