So what happened?

Did the Ranger live or die?

Is Kokanee still in a blue can?

Me neither, Michel.  I think the Kokanee Ranger likes to drink lots of Kokanee and lives in the park in a can.

Nah. Kokanee just pretends to be from BC. Kokanee is owned by Labatt, in turn owned by Inbev from Belguim.

  LOL!

Just a note. Drove through the east side of Osoyoos recently and there is a statue of a Sasquatch by a condo development. Someone put a 24 pack box of Kokanee beer in the arm of it. Guess they should have seen that coming.

It was the east side of Osoyoos up the switchback hill.

Weird? There was all these animal statues for every street of the development. A bear, eagle, cougar, etc., then a Sasquatch?

I don't think he lives in Osoyoos. Too hot for the feller!

I would say they are about 12 Km east of Osoyoos. After the big switchbacks, but still on the climb upward to the summit.

I just noticed them this summer. They may have been there before, but I could have been staring down the road hypnotized. I assume they are pretty new as people from the cities are building condos on the hillside like crazy. Never really understood wanting a summer vacation condo on a dry hill. Far away from the lake?

Don't worry, there will be lots of buyers who want to stay away from the crowd of the lake.

Yeah, I could see it working for some people. A quiet warm climate spot aways from the city (or away from the rain if a person dislikes it).

As for lakes, I like quiet spots on lakes. That is what I love about the Kootenays. Osoyoos is a gong show on the water. Tons of people and the water itself is warm as pee. Very shallow, you have to walk out a mile to get the water over your head. Osoyoos is a cool little town though, but there are nicer lakes out yonder. (my opinion anyways).

Just like anywhere, it has it's positives and negatives. Kootenays and Okanagan are two universes apart, yet only a few hours drive. Same with the central interior.

^Probably Cranbrook would be like the mountainous part of Montana. But instead of everyone owning a gun and loving football, they would own a hockey stick and love weed. Not to be stereotype on that town, but hockey is huge there...and so is weed.

I have friends in Kimberley and they said Cranbrook takes pride in its hockey players from there. Plus, smallest town with a WHL team. '02 Memorial Cup Champs too. It is a small town.

The following notable people came from or were born in Cranbrook:

Well its right under the sign. lol
Willie's Lil Me's favourite Canuck player now, I think.
You might of seen him in town, he lives in Port McNeil during the summer.

He came up with the NJ Devils, so if you saw a pic of him in a red uniform then that would be the one.

The town itself is a circle, then the two streets that go out to the highway run in a straight line and meet at the same place. Hence it looks like a phallic symbol (according to the locals).

I said Corner Gas, because the main hang out is the main gas station in town at night. Don't want to say the name because I know everybody there and well its a small town.

Really? Kokanee to me tastes like just a regular type of Canadian beer.
Here's something funny, Lucky's the cheap stuff, reminds me of Budweiser, and Bud in Canada doesn't taste like Bud in the US. It tastes better.

I find it ok, but just a touch bitter. If it is ice cold, I wouldn't turn it down mind you.

Ah. I explained to my cousin what the beer is like up in BC. Said Kokanee was the Busch beer of BC. Inbetween the cheaper brand and the regular national brand. Lucky's is the National Light.

Speaking of beer. lol
6 pack of Miller High Life (so you can live the high life) $3.95 for a 6 pack in the Ozarks of Missouri. lol

Don't let a St. Louisian here this but I'd take Miller over Bud. lol

Post by: Van on Aug 14 08 12:59
Miller not big in St. Louis?

Hey, if they are ice cold, I would enjoy either.

Just comparing prices and stuff. Nothing against Miller, but it is close to the same price as Heineken or Becks in Canadian stores. BC is really pricey for beer as it is. Even in Alberta, beer is almost half the price.
Title: Re: Today we will know if the Kokanee Ranger lives or dies
Post by: Sportsdude on Aug 14 08 01:11
St. Louis is home to Budweiser, you are liable to be beaten up if seen with a Miller who is the enemy around here in some places.

I know beer is expensive in BC, but on the plus side, the prices are relatively even. There's not much difference in price between a Granville which would down here be 8-9 bucks (because its a higher class/independent) and a Molson which would down here (if Molson was American and not considered import) be around 4-5.

If there's a positive about the inflated prices, all the beers are relatively in the same ballpark.

If you drink beer in moderation and not binge, the high  prices are not a big worry.

On another note, weed prices have been the same since the early 90s.....so I heard..from...umm..a friend....or, not...the news..yes, I heard that on the news...
