[span style="font-size: 14pt; lineh-eight: 1.3em;"]Chicken lollipops[/span]

Ingredients

8  pieces of Chicken Lollipops drumsticks with the meat pulled down to one  end. Want to impress your friends turn these in to mini lollipop chicken  wing drumsticks.. they go great on hockey night football night or just a  plain old lets eat to our hearts content while watching movies and  drinking some cold ones...

1/2 cup Maida
1/4 cup Corn Flour
1/2   spoon Ginger Paste
1/2 spoon Garlic Paste
1/2 cup Coriander  leaves
1 Spoon Red chili powder
1/4 spoon Turmeric powder
1/4  spoon Garam Masala
1 Egg
A pinch of Edible Red Colour <  optional but it really makes it look good.
Salt to taste
Oil

Method

Marinate   the lollipops with salt, ginger and garlic paste and keep for 5 minutes
Add   finely chopped coriander leaves, red chili powder, turmeric powder,  garam  masala, red colour, maida and corn flour then mix well
now  Add the egg and again mix well
put in the fridge for 1 to 2 hours or  overnight as you wish.

Now when ready to cook you need a large  pan at least 4 inches of oil to fry your chicken lollipops

Pre  Heat oil in a pan and fry the lollipops on medium heat turn as needed. Use tongs to keep the hot oil from burning your fingers That hot oil can splash when trying to  turn them with a fork.  (ouch my poor knuckles)

Notes
You can  add a pinch of curry powder to get a different taste.
If you wish  you can wrap the bony side of the lollipop with aluminum foil for the  part of presentation and to grip when eating.

Okay the time has come to replace the main stay of the entertainment  system. Just how do you go about choosing the best TV. The living room  is 8 feet wide. 10 feet long and 10 feet floor to ceiling.

I do  not watch a lot of TV. what i do, do is i tend to watch a fair amount of  streamed content or Downloaded content Ever since I bought My first PC  in 1998 The Tv has taken a secondary roll in my household. you could say  that the Telly is on mostly for back ground noise when I am working at  the computer.

IE reading or posting to the forums or time spent  playing one of the many MMORPG'S I would love to use my new TV for  playing my computer games. So in some ways I was thinking maybe it is  better to buy a large monitor than stick strictly to a TV, but is there  really that much of a difference between a TV & a monitor?

If  there are differences in a TV and a monitor what are they. What are the  best TV's to buy for gaming and Movie watching

You can now buy  TV Tuner cards and run the remote to watch tv from your PC  on the  monitor. So Does one truly need to buy a  TV or does one need to buy a  monitor.  Perhaps a cross of the two. I know one has to have High  Definition these days because everything is about the quality and the  size of the screen resolution.  and lets not forget to mention the MHZ  Refresh rates & the Frame rates for gaming.

so many  choices.. just how do you narrow down what to look for.  Should one buy 3  of the 32 inch monitors for the surreal in-depth 3-D gaming experience  what are those monitor/tv set at is it now 240 MHZ or something ? I  forget. . or just the one 42 inch High Definition TV for everyday usage  and some occasional Video game play. With movie nights on the weekend  and MMA nights ON PPV every now and then

Suggestions ? Perhaps  you just bought one and have some complaints or raves about specific  products. I have used Sony at my primary TV source since I bought my  first set 21 years ago. but Sony has had a bad rap for some notorious  problems recently with some of their models... Sony used to be the best  but are they still the best choice when there is now so many  competitors.

Can you really justify spending 300 to 500 dollars  more on a product just because of the name brand of that product ?

Where  do you start when it comes to a major expenditure such as a large TV.  idea Suggestions Comments thoughts Rants or raves.. just what do you  have to say..

Well it is that time of the week again monday... For some it is a day of rest a chance to play or to party and for some others who are not so lucky it is the first day back to another week of toiling in the slave pits.

What do you do on a Monday is it your day to slave away at work for starvation wages ?

Or is Monday your day off, offering you a well needed chance to sit back and relax ?

Just what is it you do with a Monday...

If you are sick & tired of seeing all the Forum adds or perhaps you  are sick of seeing the disturbing, the often disgusting  & sometimes  completely foul photos, that some troll posters are adding to the  forums. Well if that is you, You may wish to install [a href="http://adblockplus.org/en/" class="bbc_url" title="External link" rel="nofollow external"]Ad Block Plus[/a]. It also has a few other options to it. I thought it was worth a bit of a read up on it, or you can watch the video.

By using the [a href="http://adblockplus.org/en/" class="bbc_url" title="External link" rel="nofollow external"]ad block plus[/a] add on, I no  longer see the disgusting photos on the various site forums I frequent and if any one is familiar to the photos showing Goatse or Tubgirl, well then you know there are lots of sick posters out in the world posting sick stuff.

Thankfully there is ways to block it.

With a simple right click of the mouse on top of the offensive photo or  add space with in the Firefox browser, I have 9 available options on my  pop up properties window. The options are:

 View Image
 Copy Image
 Copy Image Location
 Save image as
 Send Image
 Set as Desktop Background
 [span style="color: rgb(191, 0, 95);"]Block Images From[/span] *whatever website you are on*
View Image Info *This will open Firefox's media box providing a bit more  info on the site & Images*
[span style="color: rgb(0, 191, 96);"]AdBlock Plus:[/span] Block Image. *which opens the Filter & exception  window*

 [span style="color: rgb(191, 0, 95);"] By Selecting Option 7 [/span]
I can chose to block the image with in the Firefox browser I can block  an individual photo or all images from the site I am on.

  [span style="color: rgb(96, 191, 0);"]By Selecting Option 9 [/span]
I can block the photo via Ad Block Plus or perhaps you want to go a bit  more in-depth with ad block plus you can also block the entire photo  host site it is just a simple addition of adding the host site url onto  the Filter's block list.

My little thread on Hosting and Posting Photos for Discover Seattle.

I post using Firefox on Windows Pro with Service Pack 3

Perhaps you are using Linux or some other kind of computer operating system, you might be posting with another kind of web browser such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Opera. If this is the case your internet windows might look a fair bit different than mine do and if that is the case, I do not know where to begin to give a tutorial  for you to post with. Sorry.

You should have a reply window that looks similar to this.

If it does not look like the photo above, then I have no idea what to do and you are on your own.

The First step is to find a photo you want to post and then a site to host it on, If you do not wish or can not use a direct photo link, some web sites do not let you do Hot linking it is considered theft of bandwidth.. So in order to post a photo, people will save or download the photo or they use a capture program such as the keyboards print screen button. The they might use a program such as windows paint to edit and save the image to the photo directory. In order to post the image they will use a web site similar to [a href="http://tinypic.com/"][a href="http://www.tinypic.com/"]this direct link for Tinypic[/a] [/a]for image hosting.

[img style="width: 588px; height: 457px;" src="http://i43.tinypic.com/a595rb.jpg[/img]

I like to use Tiny Pic for posting and finding photo's as well

[img style="width: 582px; height: 418px;" src="http://i42.tinypic.com/wuo5u1.jpg[/img]

You want the Direct Lay out link for this web site Which is the highlighted area in the photo.

You will copy that and enter it in this Little Window in order to post here  The red arrow points to the Tool bar button I use to get the entry box for posting

I am in rich text format I do not know if that can help you or not.

then I click ok and wait for it to post

Viola I now have posted a photo to Discover Seattle

This concludes My image posting and hosting thread I hope it helps you all out some.

Well my first and most horrible job was when I was 11 years old and I became a North shore news delivery boy... 200 Wednesday and Friday.  250 on Sunday 3X per week I saw a 50 % increase in fliers on the Friday and Sunday papers

I had to collate and stuff every north shore news paper with so many damned fliers. This was for a most atrocious salary of 30 dollars per month.. Thinking back on it now it was a major rip off  considering for the amount of work one had to actually do. This was 27 years  ago.

If I wanted to buy sweets at the corner store or other toys I had to earn my own money which I supplemented that 30 dollars by going door to door  on Saturdays washing the neighbors cars, mowing their lawns & come autumn it was raking leaves, in winter shoveling snow.. During fall  there was always picking apples, plums peaches and grapes.. the odd job pet sitting and giving dog baths.

On to the second part time job at 12 years old this was delivering newspapers  for The Vancouver Sun  45 news papers per day 6 days per week time to  deliver them approximately 45 minutes by skateboard.. 30 minutes by  bicycle this was the evening newspaper the final edition

This was back  when the Vancouver Sun had a morning edition and a evening edition 2 versions a day, the salary was 280 dollars a month, not great amount of money but it was mostly spent playing pinball and on the odd Slurpee at 7-11 & I think I heard every excuses under the sun when it came time to  collect from the customers on why they didn't have the money to pay... but some customers made up for it with good tips I averaged 325 dollars per month with tips.

The  third Job at 14 was for Burger King were I pretty much worked the whole  thing, Burger prep, grilling machine, steamer bun prep, drink and soft  serve station, deep fryers. Hoods and grill cleaning at night close.  cashier, fry cook, gradually moving up to drive through and night  closer. started at a whopping 5.35 an hour and left almost 8 months  later with a wage of 6.50 as a night closer. that was at the age of 15

I  moved on to Denny's dish pit for 7 dollars an hour at 15

Save  On Gas at 16 for a gigantic per hour wage of 8.25 an hour as a night  closer. full service station... I ate dinners at the Kypriaki Taverna  next door. The lemon rice soup was fantastic & the belly dancer was  magnificent.. I got fired for losing the night drop.. (almost 250  dollars) I was also pretty spaced on 2 doubles of California Sunshine at  the time (That was the name of the LSD we had at that time)

Petro_Canada  at 16 for a huge 6 bucks an hour not as good of pay as save on gas but  they were East Indian Owners and paid horrible. Made up for it with huge  item discounts staff got 40 percent off all none house hold or  automobile items. meaning pop chips sandwiches.. and a few other items.  Plus the full service tips, more than made up for the loss in hourly  rate. earned a average of 25 dollars a day in tips ( this was only a  part time job after all 4 to 5 hours a day 5 days a week)  I got fired  for making 1 to many mistakes on the Visa machine.. owners claimed my  handwriting was illegible.

went to A&W between 17 & 19  for a closing position I was drive-through and front cashier afternoon  to closing, do the cleaning and lock up assist the night manager with  cash out and the money drop it was not a bad job at 17 paid better than  many fast food gigs it was 8.45 an hour & at that time it was huge  money for a night closer. this was almost 22 years ago. I must of quit 3  or 4 times the manager kept talking me into coming back to work... till  I finally had enough of his tyrannical ways.

do you know what  is truly disgusting, well to me what I find truly disturbing or  disgusting, is that the assistant managers and night closers got paid  pretty well back then when a dollar was actually worth something.

Well today most of these jobs still pay the same amount of money but it is only about 2 to 4 dollars  more per hour depending on the job. It is now nearly 25 years later and the dollar has deflated to the point it is next to worthless. how horrid... A cheese burger at burger king 24 years ago was 60 cents. today that same cheese burger is smaller and 1.29 or is it 1.39 cents plus tax... Bah!!!...

What makes matters worse my father filed the T4 tax returns I did the work but guess who got the tax refunds.. thats right he did.. mind I was a dependent child.. and they did apply to get me a social insurance card 2 years before most kids applied for one.

Do you think DS should have little flags added. Similar to the ones in this photo. please note these photos are 300 % larger than the actually flags that would be on a persons profile or the ones that would appear on each post.

This way, we can show off where we are from & So we can see what other country's people are posting from. I suspect the majority of IP flags would be Canadian and US...

Who are you... Well My online handle is Orik
Where do you come from... I am from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Where are you right now... I am in the living room.

Polling is broken, & until, that is fixed you shall just have to write in how you vote.

I vote yes.

Abbotsford band You Say Party! We Say Die! are mourning the death, early  Sunday, of drummer Devon Clifford after he collapsed during a show at  Vancouver's Rickshaw Theatre Friday night.

"DEVON CLIFFORD  1979-2010 R.I.P." read the message sent out by the band via Twitter  early Sunday morning. It was preceded by two Saturday postings: "We are  devastated and trying to keep hope. He needs a miracle. Thank you" and  "there aren't a lot of words right now. let the doctors do their job.

The Vancouver sun deleted the original article and moved it. Maybe they did that because of the spelling mistake in the word theater This story has been deleted for technical reasons. Now I have some ideas thanks to JJ, but I could use some more ideas what to do with left over pig heads some with and with out brains, some with and with out eyes, some with and with out teeth. some with and with out tongues, you get the idea here

Now these heads are precooked, so are the legs, most of the meat and good bits have been removed for sale so the bits that are left are bits that are to burnt or do not have enough meat left. to sell to the public, but it is to good to throw in a garbage can...

so what do i use these left over bits for,  I have no pictures at this moment though some can be arranged if you wish...

now as I was saying to JJ in a PM but have decided to turn into a topic here is my Idea what to do with the heads and legs that i get. if any one else knows of some great or better ideas would be of great help ... particularly good recipe idea's..

I do not own the implements needs to make head cheese ie meat grinder or food processor. I do own a old but still serviceable blender, if that helps with ideas

Now I can use the leg with out needing extra equipment to make use of them...I can use the meat that's left on one leg to make 2 sandwiches and the leftover skin bone & gristle can be used to make a soup stock or in making a base for a stew.

if I do not use the little meat that I get from the leg to make a couple of sandwiches, I can use it plus the  half a head as a base in making a nice pork stew....I will just have to simmer it down for a couple of hours ( not sure how many hours that should be) then refrigerate overnight to remove the congealed fat layers the next day and from the look of the head that fat layer will probably be very thick. But I think the base that's left should be great to freeze for future use in adding to a slow cooker with some cheap cuts of meats and thick cut veggies with  a bit of flour to make a good stew

What do you all think ?

now this thick flavorful pork stock will have no real need for added salts not when i have a nice thick flavored broth to work with but i will probably want some spices of other sorts. what spices would i want to use.

Any suggestions  about what spices I may wish to add to my stew base ?

i think i can find some other uses for pigs head other than head cheese the fat can be a good thing for frying potatoes and rice or other veggies in for a bit of a nice mmmm meat factor... now i can cut off that thick and crunchy skin especially the ears i understand dogs love the ears as chew toys and the nice flavor of the cheek skin make a crispy treat for humans too...

what skin and bones  i have use of left.... for that part of the leg is that the ham hocks and knee and pigs foot  part of the leg ?  I can crack the bones of the legs open for the marrow plus  i can open the skull for the brain  if they give me a whole head but most of the time the brain and tongues is removed to be sold already same with the ears. leaving just the cheeks and jaw with the teeth still in it...this will all be strained out after being simmered down . unless others have better suggestions for the use of these bits of offal... I cant have those bits in the stew i am not sure i want to eat those bits in my supper...

When you live cheap and on a restrictive budget one mans left overs and garbage is another mans dinners..

these left over legs and heads can be used to make some good dinners

what about all those chicken hearts. what could those be used in livers hearts kidneys tongue.. what many uses do they have and how do you prepare them..

brainstorming recipes and ideas more than welcome... if you just want to reply yuck thats disgusting. that's OK too. even though i did not make that a option in this poll

I just read in the lunch thread Purelife has just had her water break and da babino wants out...

purelife wrote:
Guess what guys?!!  My water just broke at 12:15am.  And I'm exactly 38 weeks today so it looks like I won't be seeing my ob/gyn today as she will probably come see me instead.  We're waiting for our ride and off to the hospital.  No intense contractions yet but I'm sure they will start VERY soon!!!  I guessed this baby's birth-date of Oct 20.  I'm close!! :)  Wish us luck.

Purelife my dear friend for some strange, reason. I do not think "luck", is going to be needed in this event. Now if it was a game of roulette or black jack or ....Now if the sex of your child to be was riding on the outcome of someone's throw of the dice, then I would wish you the much needed good luck.

In times like this I think the Blessings of the church plus Prayer from your friends is in order...The Sweet Blessings Of God on you Miss Purelife May you have The Fathers Peace his  strength, May your Son's or Daughters  birth be easy and painless May the contractions be mild. May your imminent child's birth be with no complications.

I pray things will turn out right, that the Doctors and Nurses plus mommy and Daddy to be shall know what to do. I Pray that Gods hand  the divine knowledge be on them all, to guide you all and to direct them, To bring you all through this with No complications..

a general Prayer for a covering of  blessings to Miss Purelife and for calm to be on the Daddy to be... Some men turn to gibberish goo at times like this. I trust he won't.I pray it is a simplistic and easy birth with no complications and for all to be in perfect health come the dawning of a new day...

My Blessings to the new Mommy

With the closing of save on meats and the loss of the Hastings street cafe... I needed a new greasy spoon to grab a burger at from time to time. Flowers Cafe will now be that place for a burger n fries, I have yet to try the rest of the 50 odd items on the menu. But if the rest of the dishes are the same size as this mountain of fries and the gargantuan double patties, a burger you need two hands at all times to hold together to eat it. a giant of a burger, I think I will gain all the weight back in no time.

so who do you see when you need a computer repaired or tested.

where do oyu go for older parts if you don't have the money for new

this comes from my need of some replacement parts for some things... got a great acer works wonderfully except that it no longer recognizes anything but one hard drive . 2.8 ghz 800 mhz fsb nice little intel celeron chips set. nothing fancy but it works sort off

grrr... kicks acer... chips great. boards shot...

I can get it to boot on only one ide hd everything else is shot.  looking for bios support now and no idea how i am going to flash it if it wont recognize a cd rom or flobby or usb device..

wonders if i removed the baterry on the board unplugged the power and let sit would that reset the bios ? or will i have to change the jumbers on the board  i know i can reset this asus/ami board..
ive got to try flashing the acer bios to factory settings. if that fails then i need to find another motherboard for it. preferably one that wont cost me to much

lol 8 computers in 9 days. of those 8 parts to build  one. maybe 2, but then it comes down to CPU's lol time to load the shopping cart and haul some of it to the curb.  am i rambling i think i am.. time for eats.

later

Okay say you know some girls (like i do)  who work as models.
 these are adult models.

they do this work as an alternative to disco clubs or bars
where they are often working as strippers and bar girls
being touched with no rights not like our clubs where it is all strictly none touch. paying 50 to 75 percent their earnings to the clubs madam basically the girls pimp, these girls can be bar fined for roughly 1200 pesos approximately 30 dollars us.

you get that girls services for the night. these girls get 50 percent of that if they are lucky and only 75 percent if they r not.... if they r even luckier they will have  a nice client... a man who at least wears a condom or does not beat them.. many girls have no options & no choices .. getting a job as a sales lady or for a Wendy's, where they can earn a nice days wage of 250 pesos... the legal jobs are few and far between. life in most 3rd worlds country's is not all beaches and coconuts...

given the chance to help girls out in this kind of work

what would you do

do you even care

DS needs a morning hangover thread... i do not drink much or very often. but last night i had 6 beers with food over a 6 hr period and damned if i was not drunk by midnight. mostly sober by 4 am when i went to bed... for the first time  in ages... im slightly hung over....  probably cause i am awake far to early...

just want to wish every one a glorious sunday morning and a fantastic day.. groans .. now crawls back to the dark dark shadow of my nice warm bed.. to sleep off the rest of my aching head :P

estimated wietght 150 lbs  contents 1 pc  dry food  canned goods clothing toys

i want to find a afordable way to ship from door to door from vancouver to the philipines pampanga ...

does any one know of a good affordable company that does this...

yes ive tried google but with so many hits and the costs so prohibitive

im trying to find a company that doesnt do shipping by wieght i know thiers a couple of them but dont know the names or contact numnbers...

and if u know of anyone way to help raise some money for my friend in the philipines her house is needing lots of fixing up.. ie electric connection instead of a 60 foot extension cord...  water hook ups   a real toilet instead of a bucket..  a bunk bed for the kids instead of the floor... or all 3 of the family sleeping in a single bed :(  i was shocked at the conditions for many people.

thankfully she has her own house and land unlike many other family's.. but the house is badly in need of  repairs cracked mortar small holes in the bricks...  badly wired electric  using extension cords... windows with no glass...  sighs... times like this i wish i was a rich philanthropist... how on earth can  this happen anywhere in todays day and age ... i know its rough all over the world but  to live like they do :( no fridge  to keep ur food safe... damn... i could never live in this type of conditions day in and day out.. but sadly thousands if not millions do :( ...

i care for this lady and would like to help her and her kids to improve their life...with things that we take for granted every day...[span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"] [span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 255);"]your [/span][/span]recommendations are appreciated...   i could not imagine sleeping on cardboard cause u dont have enough beds  i could never imagine shitting in a bucket everyday ... damn i could never survive a life of having to haul in pails of water to fill a tub. and use the water to bathe 3 people  and to do laundry in that tub ... cooking ur food over a wood fire...  with smoke that sometimes fills the whole house, if the wind blows the wrong way... a roof made out of tin  that leaks  and conducts heat...  work is a laugh lets not talk about the options for these woman u dont want to know it  :( but many choices r simple either to work in a bar as a prostitute or if ur lucky get a somputer work online as a adult model... education.. :( if u have the moeny u can get a education no money no education... medical  sighs we have it so damned good in our respective countries is it any wonder every one else in the world wants to come to our respective countires...

My dear friend
Even when the sky is dark
 When things look bleak
Look up and find what you seek
See that light. dawn is breaking
 New days, means new rays

With the rising of the sun
 Comes new hope
Though things seem dark & gray
 Angels watch over you
 They share your pain

 You are in my heart
My thoughts & in my prayers
 Through this time of sorrow
You have shown me you care

 My friend you have eased
 Me through this heartache
I want you to know I care.
God be with & Bless you

 Angels make fine friends
Found in the strangest of places
So many people, so many faces
You my friend, are a angel
I am thankful to have met you

I never knew what was there
Blind I have been, to blind to see
The compassion you showed to me.

  Through my heartache & heartbreak
  You have been true
  My friend Theses angels

This Hug & kiss are for you
  Thank you for being you.
  Thank you for being true
  My friend I love you.
