Title: Blast from the past
Post by: TehBorken on Feb 28 06 07:28
An old old BBS ad. OMFG.  Check out the pricing! This was back when it was SO INCREDIBLY COOL to display an image on your PC. lol

$1.00 for the first minute, and .75 cents each additional minute. Yikes.

Wow. Dialup BBS's. 300 baud modems. How the hell did we ever manage?

Remember Fidonet back before the Internet? You could email someone on the other side of the world. It might take three days to get there, and go through 5 volunteer BBS owners, but it would get there.

Then came Archie, Jughead, and Veronica....

I do remember that. I also remember paying $500 for a Dual Courier HST modem that *blazed* along at 14400bps. Full price was a cool $1,000. I got it for half-price as part of US Robotics "sysop" deal. (Yeah, some deal.)
