I know it was said half tongue in cheek, but where's the wink smiley in the original post? [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a025.gif" border=0]

There're no rules as to what gets deleted in that place. Some mods claim to use common sense, however what's left behind defies all logic and common sense compared to what gets deleted.

Here's a very blatant example: [A href="http://www.discovervancouver.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=70768"]http://www.discovervancouver.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=70768[/A]

Can you tell me anything that is offensive in that thread? It's just casual chatter, nothing more. Yet some moron with an itchy finger thought it was worth nuking.

It's this kind of abuse and misuse of "power" that've led to the defection of almost 70 people to DS. And the numbers are growing...

I'm guessing once the membership here reaches 300, the flow of traffic here won't be much different than that at DV's. At that time I can't imagine how many unregistered drop ins will also be posting as well...

So this place could turn into a circus soon.

I know that we're not supposed to talk about DV

Says where? There's no such rule. You can talk about anything you damn well like.

If others' don't like it, c'est la vie. You can tell'em to shove it. [/DIV]

No one is putting a gun to their head to read what you wrote, comment on it, or engage you in discussion.

You should record them (carefully!) add some mellow background music and market them as meditation CDs!

That's been my "trademark" for a while.  Most of my posts contain it.

Good Times, don't you think this silly tantrum of yours has gone on much too long?  It's repetitious and annoying.  I don't care how you feel about the mods on DV,  but you have gotten carried away with your frequent postings on the topic.[/DIV] [/DIV] [/DIV]FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM! It was a Braveheart reference.  [img]http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/image.php?u=15725&dateline=1096244666"]

Be well. Be safe.

As you can see, none of your justifications for the moderation style on DV have a leg to stand on, but I like you as a person.

Oh, I'm sure this weenie will be back. No matter, he doesn't seem to realize that once you've loaded the image it's cached and doesn't really slow anything down.

Unfortunately it's effective against those of us on dialup. [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/traurig/e015.gif" border=0]
No damage done though. I just had to stop loading of images.

LOL. EXCELLENT use of humor against a troll! Deserves a blessing.

Not the first, we've had others before.

I wonder if that was EED, who's known for his fondness for extra large images.

I see that the images have been removed already. Good riddance!

Good thinking good Times.  I've made a few of my friends snicker on occasion too, when it comes to sniffing out an odor.  I maintain, that I can SMELL when it's going to snow.  Oh sure....they all laugh until the morning, when we wake up under a blanket of snow.

Being able to smell natural events is a well known, however often denied, olfactory skill we posess.

I forgot their names, there're natives living on an island off the coast of India, who were able to smell the tsunami before struck. They moved to a higher ground just in time and that's what enabled them to survive.

Their contact with the civilized world is minimal and they've been practising this for generations.

One of the things I can smell is what my neighbors are cooking. From the smell alone I can usually tell

- the cooking method employed[/DIV]- most of the ingredients[/DIV]- how it'll taste like[/DIV]- and what it needs to make it better  [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/e006.gif" border=0]

That's cool Good Times, you little lock picker you.[/DIV] [/DIV]I remember that once too, except I was thinking, hacksaw.[img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/n015.gif" border=0]

To this day people are amazed by what I can hear and smell.

However I haven't tried my luck picking other combination locks since that day.

Funny thing is, I never trusted my bike to that lock.  My thinking was, if I could open it, so could anyone else.
