Haha.  No.  Thanks.  I have a fear of vats full of molten oil.  But, I'm going to try panfrying some chicken schnitzel for dinner tonight.  Maybe we'll haul out the Xmas decorations as well.  We have a rare night at home to start a lazy-ish weekend...doesn't happen very often around here.

Up until recently, I was moonlighting in retail, and that involved a lot of nights and weekends at the mall.  But schlepping SE Asia sweatshop apparel was killing my soul and didn't justify the minimum wage I was earning...and I started getting some more hours in my day job.  SO I QUIT.

Hopefully our power stays on tonight.  More wind expected.  Last night we flickered and went off for a few minutes, but parts of the neighbourhood were dark until this morning.

Enjoy Florida!

Hi Everyone.  I haven't been around here much (for 6 years?).  While scrolling through messages, I just found out that Orik passed away.  Very sad.  Mr LM and I had lunch with him once at a coffee shop around the corner from Union Gospel.  Orik in person was a very kind, very affable guy who was funny and positive despite the setbacks that life had thrown at him.

Minnie- you look remarkably like me!

Hi Everyone!
*waves*
It's been a while.
Just stopped by to check in and see how everyone is doing.

Been crazy busy with life.  I quit my job in 2013, went back to university full time.  Fast forward to late 2014- having massive cash flow issues, so started working 2 part-time jobs while going to school.  It's nuts, but I'm finishing up my last semester now.

That's fantastic, purelife!  You must feel great.
What did you change?  I need some ideas-- stuck in a rut.

I'm looking at replacing my Shaw phone ($30/mo) with a Fido home phone ($10/mo) since you can keep the same #.

LOL, I5 all the way down and back?

Took I5 to Olympia, then 12 W and 101 South to Long Beach, WA.  Needed to pick up Jeckyl from camp.

In the past, I've driven to Seaside on I5 to Longview, W on 4, S on 409, SW on 30.  We spent a couple of Xmas vacations in Gearhart, WA (between Astoria and Seaside).  Offseason = cheap
There's film memorabilia from The Goonies in Astoria, the Astoria Tower, and a chain of family run Mexican restaurants called El Mariachi Loco which is in every town there.

Gearhart has a great treat store:

Wow Russ.  Great job!

Maybe you could fire up the old decommissioned USS Missouri in an hour, just like in the Battleship Movie. (Or so I've heard-- haven't seen the film)
