I went around my mothers house and asked her about WW2 sirens. The following is her recollection of those years, she was nearly 7 years old at the time.

She remembers laying across a small bunk at the back of the shelter. Laying there with blankets over her head and hands over her ears & wearing a gasmask, trying to block out the noise of the sirens & the bombs. Gran patting her back and saying `none of the jerry bombs had there name on'.

She then heard the " all clear" frightened encase they had no house left. During "the battle of Britain" my mother had to stay down there every night. They eventually came out, only to discover that the next street had a direct hit & her 3 year old cousin being  dug out of the rubble dead.

Those were my Mums recollection of the Sirens.

World's Tallest Man Marries

[span class="storytext"]  [/p]BEIJING Mar 28, 2007 (AP)— After searching high and low, the  world's tallest man has married a woman two-thirds his height, a Chinese  newspaper reported Wednesday. [/p]    Bao Xishun, a 7-foot-9 herdsman from Inner Mongolia, married 5-foot-6  saleswoman Xia Shujian several days ago, the Beijing News reported.
Bao's 28-year-old bride is half his age and hailed from his hometown of  Chifeng even though marriage advertisements were sent around the world, it said.
"After a long and careful selection, the effort has been finally paid off,"  the newspaper said.
Bao was confirmed last year by the Guinness Book of World Records as the  world's tallest person. [/p][/span][a href="http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory?id=2987525&CMP=OTC-RSSFeeds0312"]Rest of the storie here[/a]

I wish them lots of happiness.

You would be surprised at how many people are superstitious
And in some cases they allow superstition to rule there lives.
