 [P _extended="true" itxtvisited="1"]An online Halloween-costume store, TheHorrorDome.com, based in Port Washington, N.Y., sells a [A href="http://thehorrordome.com/HDSHOPPINGPROPS/SasquatchLARGE.htm" target=_blank _extended="true"]full-sized Sasquatch suit[/A] that strongly resembles the thawed-out corpse, right down to the height.

 [P _extended="true" itxtvisited="1"]"It definitely looks like our costume," owner Jerry Parrino, who's been keeping track of the Bigfoot body story, told FOXNews.com.

 [P _extended="true" itxtvisited="1"]Two things stand out about Biscardi's claims: first of all, that he's not going to be presenting a body — and in fact claims to not even know where the body is — and secondly, that the DNA evidence he's promising won't be accompanied by a "chain of custody" that details where it came from and how it got to the lab.

 [P _extended="true" itxtvisited="1"]In other words, all he may have is photos — which don't appear to be too convincing.

 [P _counted="undefined"]Food prices have been largely flat for months, mainly because of the surging Canadian dollar, which has reduced the cost of importing products from the United States such as fruits and vegetables.

 [P _counted="undefined"]But with the dollar stabilizing near parity with the U.S. greenback and oil hitting record levels, "Canada's good luck on food prices is likely to run out in 2009," said Avery Shenfeld, a senior economist at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.

 [P _counted="undefined"]Mr. Shenfeld estimates food inflation will jump from zero to 3.5 per cent next year, outpacing the overall inflation rate for the first time in years. Another CIBC report forecast that oil prices will almost double by 2012, sending gasoline to $2.25 a litre.

 [P _counted="undefined"]Prices for bread, pasta and flour have already climbed more than 8 per cent in some stores. "There have already been noticeable price increases at the shelf level," said Dave Wilkes, vice-president of the Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors, which represents major grocery-store chains.

 [P _counted="undefined"]Maple Leaf Foods, one of Canada's largest food companies, has jacked up the average price of a loaf of its bread by 40 cents in the past six months. More increases are likely if wheat prices remain high, said Michael McCain, the company's chief executive officer.

 [P _counted="undefined"]"I think there's undoubtedly food inflation ahead of us here in Canada," he said yesterday. "These are stunningly, stunningly challenging times."

 [P _counted="undefined"]Several forces that have shielded Canadians from serious food inflation are losing their effectiveness.

 [P _counted="undefined"]The loonie soared 17 per cent against the U.S. dollar last year, but few experts expect it to rise much more. That means Canadians will start feeling the full impact of record high prices for commodities such as wheat, corn and soybeans, which are priced in U.S. dollars. Rising fuel costs will also pump up shipping costs.

 [P _counted="undefined"]Meat prices have been low because of a glut of livestock, particularly hogs, in Canada and the United States. But herds on both sides of the border are starting to come down in size because farmers have been losing so much money. The futures market is indicating that meat prices will rise by next fall.

 [P _counted="undefined"]Costs for farmers have also skyrocketed. The price of fertilizer has more than doubled since last fall, while diesel fuel and other chemicals have also gone way up. Meanwhile, commodity markets have gyrated wildly in recent weeks, sending the price of wheat, canola and corn soaring one day and plummeting the next. That has added more risk for farmers and left many wondering if the markets are working at all.

 [P _counted="undefined"]"It's been very disruptive," said Eric Fridfinnson, a farmer in Manitoba who has been trying to figure out how much he might get for his crops this year. "I think that there really does need to be an examination of all futures markets."

 [P _counted="undefined"]Many farmers blame the growing influence of investment funds for distorting commodity prices. According to figures compiled by Gresham Investment Management, a commodities brokerage in New York, the amount of speculative money in commodities futures - that is, investors such as big funds that don't buy or sell the physical commodity but merely bet on price movements - was less than $5-billion (U.S.) in 2000. Last year, it ballooned to roughly $175-billion.

 [P _counted="undefined"]By some estimates, investment funds control 50 per cent of the wheat traded on the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the world's biggest commodity markets.

 [P _counted="undefined"]"Even the most plain-Jane investors are being told they have to be in commodities," said Michael Swanson, an agricultural economist with Wells Fargo in Minneapolis.

 [P _counted="undefined"]Regulators and fund managers say the funds provide valuable liquidity to the markets. They also point out that the average fund investor is a middle-class worker saving for retirement.

 [P _counted="undefined"]Along with investment funds, there has also been growing concern about shrinking global grain supplies - wheat stocks are at a 30-year low - and the impact of biofuels. The U.S. government estimates that more than 30 per cent of next year's corn crop will be used to make ethanol. That compares with 10 per cent five years ago.

Thought this would be a good place to ask sports about East St. Louis. Is East St. Louis a seperate city, like the one in Illinois? Or are you referring to a neighbourhood of St. Louis?

  My favorite city I have ever visited was Portland. It was just so cool. Great indie rock, great coffee shops, a city in a forest. Well planned too, I am told. It was like a toned down version of Seattle! LOL.

Just a general thread for movie lovers. Old, new, in between. From family to XXX.

  Any favs? Any recent good ones? I am always looking for a decent movie to watch.

Last good one I seen was Horton Hears a Who. Awesome for the whole family.

  I really love Sin City, Gladiator, Fast Times at Ridgmont High, The Departed (except for that cheesy rat at the very end), Pulp Fiction, and the Indiana Jones series. Oh, I thought American Gangster was ok too for recent rentals.

Maybe like a "get to know you" thread. What are everyone's general interests? Poor DS needs a little gas it seems.

  I can start.

- As you know, I love mountain biking

- BMX is an old school hobby that is hard to quit

- Skiing and Snowboarding (depending on conditions) back country and/or resort style

- Working with troubled teens

- Working for myself as a drafting contractor

- Music (Indie, Groove Metal, Classic rock, Alt rock, some house music. NO Country music, EVER!)

- Coffee rocks!

- As for watching sports, I love UFC and Boxing. I want to be a fighter, but don't have the skills.

- Cold Guinness makes me smile.

- Life first, work second

- Exploring my home province of BC, besides the Lower Mainland and the Okanagan

- Traveling, I am not well traveled, but will be!

- Healthy eating

- Not overly political because I hate all representatives, but would love to take the best of all of them too and unite into one.

  Ok, I have never actually heard every radio station in the world, but I love Indie rock and Indie metal, Canadian style. I love American indie and alt rock too, but there is not a lot of outlets in Canada for indie bands to get their music out and CBC Radio 3 supports it all!

  CBC Radio 3 plays a ton of the local scene with bands like The Feminists, Hellrazor,  the Gentle Infidels to name just a few...

 The Vatican has unveiled some new sins for the 21st century, such as genetic manipulation, pollution and social injustice.

 Archbishop Gianfranco Girotti, the Vatican's number-two official for sins and penance, told L'Osservatore Romano that he saw bioethics as posing the greatest risks for the human soul.

 "(Within bioethics) there are areas where we absolutely must denounce some violations of the fundamental rights of human nature through experiments and genetic manipulation whose outcome is difficult to predict and control," he told the Vatican's official newspaper on Sunday in an interview headlined "New Forms of Social Sin."

 The Roman Catholic Church has previously spoken out against stem cell research that requires the destruction of human embryos, believing that life begins at conception.

 Girotti also attacked drugs, saying they "weaken the mind and obscure intelligence."

 On the growing gap between rich and poor, he said it causes "an unbearable social injustice."

 Pope Benedict has made several strong statements on the environment in recent months, saying problems like climate change had become critical to humanity's future.

 Catholicism has two basic types of sin: Venial, which are relatively less important and forgivable, and mortal. T

 Mortal sin can include acts like abortion and murder, although the church doesn't keep a well-defined list.

 Mortal sins can cause a person to go to Hell unless confessed to a priest, who then absolves the sinner in God's name.
