Title: Daily Chores you Hate the MOST
Post by: P.C. on Apr 02 07 09:01
What is the chore you hate the most ?  (inspired by kitten's idea of having Jeeves bring her lunch if she were to win the lottery)

So if you could hire someone to take your least favourite chore off your daily list.....what would it be?

I think for me, it would be making the bed.  I have no idea why it irks me so much (especially being as an unmade bed irks me equally)

picking up after my b/f.  he can leave so many cups/bottles around the house.  One time, I found a container of haggen daaz (sp?) under the bed!  Now, the apt is in an entire mess!  I'd love someone to just organize all his stuff.

Well that's something I'd get back on track in a hurry SD.  Don't mind picking up after kids to a degree....but grown-ups can pick up after themselves.

I like grocery shopping SOMETIMES.  I like going to local markets for fresh produce and such, the fish markets etc.....but supermarket shopping......not so much.

If I won the lottery, I wouldn't change. Can't see myself I hiring someone to drive me around or clean up after me when I'm perfectly capable of doing it myself.

Sorta like when we moved into the 'rich' neighbourhood last year the neighbour asked us if we wanted to hire there made. We were shocked that we would ever pay someone to clean our own house.  So of course we said no.

Here's the tip ladies.....marry for love, and marry a man who has got a few years of bachelorhood under their belts......no strike that.....um....a few years of bachelorhood to their credit.  I wasn't looking to be anybody's momma.  It's much nicer to do things for each other because we want to not because we think it's our duty.  [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/liebe/d058.gif" border=0]

Same with Mr. P.C.   You seem to come in with a more equal footing when you both know how to look after yourselves.  Is't that the very definition of being a grown-up?
Title: Re: Daily Chores you Hate the MOST

 lol.
They love us anyway so they wouldn't leave us over a messy room.  Because a woman always thinks she can change the man, the man knows this is what she is setting out to do, so he plays along with the game.

Always love those girls who think they can 'change' someone. It ain't happening.

A lot of girls would think that attempting to change a man wasn't worth the effort.

That's the avantage of adult relationships, I think. From seeing other older couples it seems to work out better then the 20 somethings. Older couples (not that any of you are 'older' just comparing my age group to yours) seem to work out better then my age group.  2nd time around or something, (I have no clue what I'm talking about now, just winging it lol)

Maybe for some SD....but I don't think those women will be blissfull in their existance with such a man.  There'll be a price to be paid somewhere down the line.

I was attracted to my hubby for the very reason that it was apparent he wasn't looking for a maid.  Smart women know that if a man needs changing....he still needs his momma.

Really? Because the girls my age still think that.  They constantly go for the bad apples and just write off the good guys or nice ones that I'd fall into.
But then again most girls my age are only concerned about sex and partying and their boyfriends look 20 years older then them but that's mainly due to drugs I think.

Nobody wants to have an actual 'relationship' anymore.

Title: Re: Daily Chores you Hate the MOST

A real relationship requires maturity.  If it doesn't have a solid foundation of mutual respect it isn't going to last long.
Title: Re: Daily Chores you Hate the MOST
Post by: P.C. on Apr 02 07 10:26
SD.....men who are looking for a woman to be his maid and momma are no different than women who are looking for a man with a wallet.

edit....and that has less to do with age, than it does values.

you found companionship PC and that's really sweet. That's what I'm trying to say but I'm really bad at it.

Most relationships in my age group are anything but, but I'm not going to dwell on those people, they aren't worth my time anyway.  That's how I see the dating world.  Its really easy now to tell the two different types apart but I see it all the time where the girl goes after the guy who is bad and is just looking for sex.  It's frustrating!  Its almost a disease on the girls part, and I have a perfect example in my cousins from Kansas City. They just haven't learned.

I'm not looking for a maid, I want a relationship.
But most girls my age don't want to do anything in life and they've said so, they want a rich guy.
Then the guys say the same thing with the line "I want a girl who can complete me" aka do the chores etc.
Makes me wonder about my generation.
I already know they think they are entitled to everything.
Instead of echo boom they should becalled generation snob/spoiled.

Companionship?  What?...Do you think I'm 90 or something?  I found love and mutual respect.

Stop acting like the examples of your age group are some kind of guideline.  It isn't age that will assist you in finding a good relationship....it's maturity......and they're not necessarily the same thing.

Look for what you want, and you'll find it.  Girls going after the bad boy is the same as boys going after the pretty girls.....that too is an equal 'disease'.  You're trying to find some logic in a bunch of people doing it wrong.

It isn't as if you have to find the right person in a set length of time.  Anything good is well worth waiting for.  You wouldn't buy the first car you saw, so be sure you know what you are looking for in a woman before you settle for the first one that comes along.

Wow, this thread turned out to be about men and women doing chores and such and then, relationship counselling.  I tried to read pages 2 and 3 and then, completely passed page 4.  Ok, let's see what I remember.

Lil Me, yeah, agree.  Taking out the garbage is okay for me to do, but for some odd reason, I prefer my guy to do it.  And he has been taking the garbage since I've met him.  At the odd times, I'd take it out.  One day, I found about 3-5 bags of garbage outside our balcony!  OMG, I bloody almost screamed!  This has got to be the lazy man's way of "taking out the garbage!"  He never did that again as he knows how I feel about that.

When I met my guy, he used to live on his own in a bachelor suite.  He'd have all his bottles lying around, cups around, everywhere!  Sometimes, I'd pick them up but most of the time, I would tell him to pick them up.  Slowly, but surely, he started to get better with his things and would pick them up.

I believe that changing each other is good.  It takes time.  He has changed me and I have changed him as well.  I know, that was really simplictic and general, but I don't want to go into details.

Totally.  Of course, we are fundamentally WHO we are- there's no getting around that.  But we all have our quirks- and our partners help us to round out some of the sharp edges.

Do you guys have the ongoing "toilet seat" battle?  lol.  Mine has been going on for 11 years!  Now that I live with 3 males, I'm on the losing side.  I'm just happy when they remember to flush.  (I've suggested to all of them that turning on the bathroom light in the middle of the night would help with the aim.  And I frequently remind them where the fan switch and the toilet cleaner are.  Loooove the Pine Sol scent.)

Title: Re: Daily Chores you Hate the MOST

LOL Ms LM.

I'm lucky that my guy puts down the toilet seat everytime he flushes.  If he never puts it down, I wouldn't have a problem with it.  It doesn't seem to bother me too much.  I actually enjoy cleaning bathrooms.  Dunno why.  I've had my own cleaning and organizing business for quite a while before and bathrooms were something I did.  I got really used to it.  I've seen worse is how I look at it. :)))

Too many things to write but most of all I hate:

  a) cleaning the toilet (http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/ekelig/e030.gif)

  b) ironing

  c) folding clothes (too many clothes when there's a toddler involve)

  d) washing & drying the dog (which takes 1 hour for a little dude)

I found this funny joke and it kinda relates to what we have been talking about.  (sorry PC if it bugs you, you can delete it if you wish)

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance -- particularly in the flower and jewellery applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0, NBA 3.0, and Golf Clubs 4.1.  Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.  I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?[?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /][o:p][/o:p][/SPAN]

 [P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 12pt"][SPAN lang=EN-CA style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: #333333; FONT-FAMILY: 'Courier New'; mso-ansi-language: EN-CA"]
Signed, Desperate[o:p][/o:p][/SPAN]

Dear Desperate:

First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an Operating System.  Please enter the command: "http: I Thought You Loved Me.html" and try to download Tears 6.2 and don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.  If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewellery 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

But remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1.  Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources).
Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program.

These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.  You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance.  We recommend Food 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Good Luck, Tech Support[/SPAN][SPAN lang=EN-CA style="mso-ansi-language: EN-CA"] [o:p][/o:p][/SPAN]

Too many things to write but most of all I hate:

a) cleaning the toilet

b) ironing

c) folding clothes (too many clothes when there's a toddler involve)

d) washing & drying the dog (which takes 1 hour for a little dude)

I agree with all of the above, but 'A' is my number one worst thing. My gf and I play paper-rock-scissors to see who will clean the toilets.

I don't mind the clothes, ironing etc.
toilets suck
mowing the lawn sucks (but then again I've never been allowed to mow it)
cleaning the car would be the worst for me.

I wish that I had a lawn to mow.  I always enjoyed it whenever I mowed my parent's lawn before.  (when I lived with them)  Great workout!  The only thing that sucks is that I have to be careful of jumping rocks and twigs.  One almost flew right at my eye.  That part, I hate!  Dangerous too. :))

yeah you should wear protective glasses when mowing.
Mowing my house has always sucked because of giant hills. Especially at the new house. The backyard is 75 degree hill basically.

Grocery shopping.  (if I don't have a car to use)  It sucks to buy some bags of groceries and then having to take it back on the bus/skytrain to home.  And when the skytrain is crowded, I'm standing up and these groceries are more heavy.   I know about the home delivery option where you shop online but I prefer to buy my own as it's cheaper.  Ah well....

I don't mind shopping. I actually quite enjoy it. It's my time away from the kids. So a one-hour shopping turns out to be three hours.  Hehe. (http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/12.gif)

hee hee... I usually bring my boys to Superstore and Kins Market.  They love coming out with me.  :)))

But, when I'm shopping on my own, without a car, I dont' like dragging groceries in the skytrain.

There's a whole different feeling wandering through a farmers market or a place like Granville Island to select special things..... than picking up laundry detergent and toilet paper and the daily stuff we need.....that's bothersome to me.

I forgot this little nuisance too.....vacuuming stairs.  Regulare vacuuming is OK......but NOT THE STAIRS.

well nobody cleans my room. If I don't clean it nobody does lol. Yeah I don't like people going through my room either. All the personal stuff people have sent me over the years goes under my bed in a box. letters and such. Last thing I need is my sister finding all that stuff.

Just remember to not major in the minors.  Housework is neverending, but there are too many things that are way more important.

[/DIV][FONT face=arial, helvetica][FONT id=role_document face=Arial color=#000000 size=2] [FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=3]A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the
present  "Seven Wonders of the World."

Though there were some disagreements, the following received the most
votes:

1. Egypt's Great Pyramids
2. Taj Mahal
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter's Basilica
7. China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student had not
finished her paper yet. So she  asked the girl if she was having
trouble with her  list. The girl replied, "Yes, a little.  I couldn't quite make up my
mind because  there were so many."

The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can
help."

The girl hesitated, then read, "I think the 'Seven  Wonders of the

Hmmm, my guy doesn't like doing laundry either.  He would have them pile up until he reaches his last underwear and then he might just wash a load or two.  We have a special little closet for all his dirty clothes.  I load it up with baking soda and sprays. ;)
