Title: Advice Column
Post by: Lil Me on Apr 11 07 12:03
I thought we could use an Advice Column.  We're always asking each other questions and/or giving unsolicited advice, so let's condense it into a single thread.  Post your questions and answers!

You know, a Dear Abby sort of deal.  :)

Maybe the Hokey Pokey IS what it's all about.

It would be a relief to think so.

Oxy Clean removes everything- smell, stains.  It's the best.

lol.
Why does SFU look like a prison?

Title: Re: Advice Column
Post by: purelife on Apr 11 07 01:24
because it was a prison.  I mean, SFU isn't on top of the mountain, away from the city, for nothing!  SFU loves concrete!

ADD: Nevertheless, don't trust the pics!  You really have to be there to ignite all your senses!

There's a really cute girl I like and she digs me too, but I'm locked up right now (unjustly of course) and so it puts a crimp in my style. Can a relationship between a human female and an incarcerated lower-order primate ever work out or should I just move on?
Title: Re: Advice Column
Post by: purelife on Apr 11 07 01:35
Are you sure that she's a she?
Title: Re: Advice Column
Post by: PostMonkee @(^_^)@ on Apr 11 07 01:49
You make a good point.

It can be hard to tell with humans since they all look pretty much the same.

But I don't fancy males, so I'm pretty sure she's a she.

And she types so delicately     :)
Title: Re: Advice Column

Does she have nice hair?
Title: Re: Advice Column

still looks too weird, pl. Doesn't look inviting. lol

then, i guess that you're unvited to SFU.  don't go there.  i heard about animals such as monkeys who are held captive there in cages.  I bet that is where that monkey who has been posting on DS is from.

anyways, SFU really is short for SHUT THE F*CK UP!

Geesh, did I just say that? ;)

She has hair nice enough to secretely cut in her sleep and keep in a locket around my neck, to be removed every 30 minutes or so for a good sniffing.

Post by: uh-huh on Apr 11 07 03:40
Nice hair means that she uses a good conditioner.  I wonder if she washes with mayonnaise.  Have you asked monkey?
Title: Re: Advice Column
Post by: PostMonkee @(^_^)@ on Apr 11 07 03:41
I once washed a girl's hair with my mayonaise.

I had to pay an extra $50     :(
Title: Re: Advice Column

How many bananas did you put in the mayonnaise formula?  OMG what else did you put in it?  Did wecam? ;)
Title: Re: Advice Column

How many bananas did you put in the mayonnaise formula?   It's a secret recipe and no human can ever be told.

But if you marry me then you can be converted. It's a small price to pay to learn one of the central mysteries of the universe, no?

There's an old bonobo song my grammy used to croon to me back in the day...

part of it goes...

  Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

And that pretty much sums up how we live.

Take my paw, won't you?

Question: Does anyone have an itchy scalp remedy?  I'm going nuts today.
Title: Re: Advice Column
Post by: purelife on Apr 11 07 09:51
What kind of shampoo/conditioner do you use Lil Me? I used to have that problem with certain type of shampoo, but when I switched, it was gone.  I now primarily use Nioxin (from salon) and at the odd times, AG and Redken.
Title: Re: Advice Column
Post by: Lil Me on Apr 11 07 09:57
For the last couple of months, Redken for colour treated hair.  But my scalp is only itchy today!  Something to do with the temperature/season changing?

Title: Re: Advice Column
Post by: Sportsdude on Apr 11 07 10:03
nope, I've got cronic dry scalp. I think I know the problem, I need moisturizing shampoo.
Title: Re: Advice Column
Post by: purelife on Apr 11 07 10:03
You will probably need more conditioner for your hair, Lil Me. I get that too when the weather is too dry.  I notice that I itch more when it comes to warm weather.  I've been using lemon juice as my conditioner these days and it seems to work.  A nice leave in conditioner would work too.

[hr style="width: 100%; height: 2px;"]Nope, what you need is a really really good conditioner.  You have to use shampoo first and then the conditioner.  Don't know if you buy the 2-in-1, but those aren't stronger enough to condition your hair.

Title: Re: Advice Column
Post by: Sportsdude on Apr 11 07 10:07
Never have used conditioner. Do you use it before or after shampooing?
Title: Re: Advice Column
Post by: purelife on Apr 11 07 10:08
That's probably your problem then.  You use conditioner after.  You buy the same brand of conditioner as your shampoo.

okay, thanks!
I'll go to the store tomorrow.

Title: Re: Advice Column

lemon juice- do you rinse it out or leave it in?
Title: Re: Advice Column
Post by: purelife on Apr 11 07 10:17
What I do is after I wash my hair with shampoo first and then conditioner, I pour my lemon juice concoction over my head and leave it in for about 5 minutes.  (take a lemon, squeeze it out and then add half cup water to it and more depending on how dilluted you want it).  Then, rinse it out.  This should condition your hair as well as give it that shine.  I've done it a few times and my hair wasn't as itchy as before.  I'm not sure if it'll work for you, Lil Me because everyone has different hair type.

If not, try malt vinegar.  So, have cup of malt vinegar with half cup water.  This would be a leave-in, no rinse procedure. :)

so I'm going to walk around smelling like fishnchipsnvinegar?
Title: Re: Advice Column
Post by: purelife on Apr 11 07 10:20
Yep.  I did the malt vinegar thing for about a month one time and my hair was so conditioned and soft.  It was awesome.  I just don't do it now because it's so damn darn expensive.  Back in London, it was like 20cents for half a litre.  :))

I'd stick to the lemon thingee, ms lil me. :)

Next question: Has anyone found a self-tanner that smells good?  I'm using a StupidStore brand self tanner/moisturizer which smells pretty ripe.

i have itchy scalp every now and again. the temperature of the water also makes a difference. hot water isnt good.

aveda has a great product for such a thing...i found this from 'shape' magazine on hair care. dont ask why i was reading shape magazine!

Maybe I should reduce my shower temperature, cuz it's currently set at thermonuclear.

So Kingy, what other mags do you read besides Shape? ;)  That's a great tip.  I'll check it out.

ADD: Yeah, I heard that washing hair in hot hot temperature isn't good.  Lukewarm is better, but sometimes, I just like it hot!

Why wouldn't I?  Of course he can read them or do whatever he pleases to with it.  He's a GUY!  If he wasn't into those kinds of magazines, I'd think that he is gay.  He has a ton of these magazines before I met him as well.
