 Not up here in Canada.  We can still fileshare legally here.... for now.  Besides, the users are not often the targets of the RIAA, MPAA, and whoever else you can think of ending in AA.  They tend to go after the big distributers to cut the sharing off at its source.

  I really think the entertainment industry is going to have to embrace peer to peer networks because they will never go away no matter how many pieces of anti-copy software they come up with.  

  The latest Microsoft DRM called Windows Genuine Advantage probably cost Microsoft big bucks in development and was defeated in less than a week.

  The entertainment industry will never win this battle because the hackers who defeat their methods are often working for them as well.

While I agree with you that this sucks, its not really a big deal.  

  History has shown that every time they try to prevent copying of anything, hackers find a new way to copy it anyway.  

  The worst case scenario is, you might be inconvenianced for a couple weeks until the first hacks appear.

Hey Weird Al

  I was thinking of starting a new Heavens Gate for the next time the Hale-Bopp comet comes around.  I figure if I start now, I could have a lot of followers by the time the big day comes.

  New rules though.

I respect what you are trying to do but the internet is a fairly hostile place since dickheads can hide behind their online alter-egos and say any horrible thing they like with nearly no possibility of reprucussions.  

  I don't think spreading peace over the internet is going to be very effect but kudos for the effort!  

They should modify these into weapons.
