I'm also curious  if anyone who uses Facebook, is against cams keeping watch on city streets.

I voted for the second option.

I voted for the second opinion. But Im also of the opinion that cameras can and should be used in high crime areas.

I mean, banks and other businesses can have closed circuit TV's for security and crime reasons.. why cant we in areas that are known for things like drug dealing and other activities. Nobody wants to pay taxes for more police (which I think we dont need, they just need to be able to do their job without all the stupid lawsuits and rules).

I don't have a problem with city cams and traffic cams.  I'm not doing anything that I'm trying to hide.  Just another ordinary citizen.

(I actually like how city cam footage gets used by analysts on 24!)

I'm all for city cams too.

I was making this weird comparison, after talking to a friend who is outraged at the invasion of privacy that they 'rob' from her.  At the same time, she has a huge thing on facebook, where anyone from all over the world can read her daily goings on....how much she drank on Saturday night...etc.  It seems odd to me.

I'm all for the cameras.  Here's a relevant article in the local news........

I'm not on Facebook. I refused to go on Facebook even though it's so popular. I just don't trust it.

I agree with you 49er. We have a pilot project here as well with 5 cars I believe with it. It showed promise when within the first few hours of using it they had 200 suspect cars they could pull over.. a number of them showing stolen. At least it will give them something to do other than pull people over to harrass them.
