Then Star herself called into The View from her recovery bed to [A href="http://www.defamer.com/hollywood/star-jones/rumors-of-star-jones-breast-lift-death-greatly-exaggerated-163257.php"]play the story down[/A], as her co-hosts listened attentively, trying their best to hide their mild disappointment. But a 911 call obtained by NY Daily News JV gossip Lloyd Grove indicates the Enquirer [A href="http://www.nydailynews.com/news/gossip/story/404107p-342262c.html"]might have been right after all[/A]:

"We have a patient who is on our surgery table, who we cannot stop from bleeding." Shortly after the frantic 4:56 p.m. call - which was played for Lowdown yesterday by a source who obtained it from the Santa Monica city attorney - an ambulance took Jones from the outpatient surgery center to Saint John's Health Center, a full-service hospital across the street, where she was eventually stabilized.

Last time we checked, a frantic call placed to 911 isn't exactly high atop the list of things you want to have happen during an invasive procedure. We're not sure why Star chose to whitewash the events, or, for that matter, why she still refuses to admit to having had her widely rumored gastric bypass surgery. We fear she may be caught in a spinning shame spiral of her own making. Thank God she has her rock, husband Al Reynolds, the one thing in her life about which Star can confidently tell the world that what you see is what you gay. Get. We meant get.
