It helped in the early days to fix the calendar, and it caused Egyptian priests to chronicle ecplipses with such care that in time they were able to predict them. It really does make sense when you think about it.[/DIV]How could the authorities not know the seriousness of such a massive disaster days after it occurred?

It's like Bush's 7 infamous minutes after 9/11. I don't know about you, but there seems to be a pattern of massive inertia and indecision following major incidents with this white house. The really ironic part, is that so many people voted for Bush because they felt he would be better in a crisis (tougher and more resolute). Meh.
