So why doe's the Chat feature not work ??????

No idea, I've just tried it and it doesn't work for me either.

I think it did  back in the early days, but I think the general consensus was, that it splintered the forum.

I did it sometimes with PL and Tenkani.. then yeah.
I dont know? I havent attempted to use in in a few years now.
