So I get my computer back from the wizards that fixed my nasty virus....but nothing is as it should be.  It's as if I'm running someone elses computer.  Sites that I have always visited, that are on My Favourites list, are no longer accessible.  Forbidden.  I tried accessing them by typing in the addresses, but to no avail.

Even here I can't post a smilie from the drop down.  WTF !!!!!!!! :(

It's times like these that I wish I knew so much more about computers.

It might not be on Rich Text.

I am ready to be committed.  I have fought with this GD thing since 6 this morning.  I swear it's someone elses computer.  I can't believe how many times I've been on the verge of tantrum today.

I have decided to limp through with it til the end of the week.  I have another book almost ready, that has to be in by June 30th....so I'm not taking any chances.  It sure is a fast track to frustration when things aren't working properly though.  It also really bugs me, because it's pretty new...and already has some of the same issues that made me trash the last one.

If I thought my pea-like brain could handle it, I'd take some courses to get a deeper understanding of the inner workings...but I have no more space.

Oh, poor PC. Perhaps a glass of beer will help........?

I suspect your amazing collection of funny emoticons. There's nothing for free. These sites and any other "interesting site for free" are there to have lure you so that someone can have access to your computer. Probably your spyware come from there. Switch to Mozilla also. This will reduce immensely your possibilities of infection.

That makes sense Michel...but I don't think the recent problem was spyware.  Also...wouldn't the anti-spyware protection that I have, indicate that problem ?  The computer is clean, according to the good lads at the computer hospital.

Damn I hate it when you make sense.  [img border=0 src="http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/4.gif"]

So even if I check the security of the source, it could still be not safe ?

Nothing major.  Just some subtle hang-ups and minor glitches.  Perhaps I am just expecting too much or even perhaps has nothing to do with my computer. ?

Also, I noticed the tech guys took it upon themselve to install IE 8...which explains a lot of the unfamiliar icons I was whining about.    I'm not good with change, apparently. [img border=0 src="http://discoverseattle.net/forums/richedit/smileys/Happy/4.gif"]
