Hale-Boop ? I got picture of it over Montréal in Winter.

My record was 153 shooting stars in one night, including 4 in one shot. I could have seen way much more but as usual I fell asleep way before the highest part of the shower. Most years I see 20 at the most. I always fell asleep too fast and it's always cold. Brrrr.

Yup it was in the winter, but its more famous for those dudes who wanted to hitch a ride on it off to meet the aliens or something.

I didn't saw anything, was too tired to checked more than for a few minutes. But I saw a bat chasing the bugs that were attracted by the lights of my living room. Very close twice. I might try to take pics of one if I see another bat.

I didn't see anything either Michel.  It seems that I was more interested in viewing the back of my eyelids.  Plus it was a wee bit overcast in the 2 foot square patch of sky that I can see from my balcony.

lol 2008, the year of the bat !

I might try again tonight, going to the roof, as I'm pointing North West and the best is South East.

Indeed, you need a vast horizon and clear skies with no moon if possible.

Well, we drove out to Aldergrove, found a dark field and saw very little.  Maybe a dozen or so.  Oh well, it's still a night I'll always remember.

Ah too bad, bad year for this part of the Earth then. Well there still next year, or maybe tomorrow if weather is good.
