Some of the movies I rented lately are so bad, it is better just to turn down the volume and put on Pink Floyd eclipse instead of listening to the jibber jabber!!

I don't know, I don't have expanded cable here in Canada. *checks ifc canada schedule*
no ifc america is different. They've got certain days of the week dedicated to certain genres. Like Japanese Horror/Suspense films those are on Sundays if I remember correctly. Then they have Doc night etc.

checked ifc.ca looks like you've just got shows.

lol speak of the devil. 4:35 et they're showing L'Auberge Espagnole. lol  Its a film about Erasmus (Europe's student exchange program) students living together in Barcelona. Great comedy.

....and those are the ones I watched just last night !!!

My russian is rusted but Battleship Potemkine really played last night on TCM (and I missed it) and no, it's not written like that. PC is a fraud !!!

No no no.....it wasn't Battleship Potemkine.  It was something....much more refined.  It was intellectually stimulating, deep and profound....while at the same time whimsical and cheeky .

Two semi-oldies which I've always admired are Picnic and Hanging Rock and The Lacemaker.

I'd hardly call  L'Auberge Espagnole "intellectual" a kid quits his job, becomes a writer, british girl makes fun of the french, everyone makes fun of the british girl, the american is not trusted, the british brother of the girl is homophobic, and audrey tautou is in the movie being a cranky gf. hardly "intellectual" lol

Le Chorus is about a children's choir in France

I didn't claim that one to be intellectual.  I was talking about my list of foreign films.
