[div style="font-style: italic;"]ROFL. Nice one. Although the dems are not radically different, especially when it comes to foreign policy...[/div]
I agree. The Dems are the same thing just with a different logo.

Greed, corruption, hidden agendas, lying, cheating, stealing- the Republicans and the Democrats are all cut from the same cloth as far as I'm concerned. They're all crooked. The Republicans seem to be more efficient at it, though.
For thou art with me; thy cream and thy sugar they comfort me
Thou preparest a carafe before me in the presence of Juan Valdez
Thou anointest my day with pep; my mug runneth over
Surely richness and taste shall follow me all the days of my life
And I will dwell in the house of coffee forever.

"The Republicans seem to be more efficient at it, though."

Exactly. The Repubs take it one baby-step further and have mastered the art of public relations. Calling Rove a genius is not an overstatement, but he's just one of many Republican marketing masterminds. The true genius of American politics is that they (the architects) have envisioned, and largely implemented, a system whereby supression of the populace by force of arms is almost completely unnecessary. Why shackle their arms when you can just as easily shackle their minds and still maintain the facade of freedom and democracy.

I'm reading an excellent book called "What Liberal Media?", all about how the "liberal media" is a basically complete myth. There are virtually no liberal media outlets anymore, and the book does an excellent job of laying it out. Nearly all the media in this country is aggressively conservative, regardless of what the conservatives say about the so-called "liberal media".
I don't live on the edge, but sometimes I go there to visit.

These right wing hacks are great at manipulating people with propaganda, and then claim that the opposite side is the one doing it. I've heard Bill O'Reilly (spit) say numerous times "You know Goebbels said that if you repeat a lie often enough it becomes the truth". This whole liberal media hooey is just a prime example of that-subtly shifting peoples thought to the right because they think the Corporate Media is spinning the news to the left.

You want to know something funny. [/DIV]Went to the bookstore to buy Orwell's 1984 and next to it was a Bill O'Rielly book. Karma.
