I am registered here, wyk!  Just for the record, on a personal level I do respect you as a poster...

Yeah. I saw that in the newspaper yesterday. Kinda scary considering I'm going to be commuting with buses in the near future. Yikes!

I must say though that I'm not surprised. For some reason bus drivers seem to get the worst road rage of all. I don't understand why. I mean, you're being paid to drive but you get cranky about the whole issue. Not only do cars have to leapt out of your way, you look ready to mow ppl down.

The only pleasant bus drivers are ones that don't have major or busy roads to drive and ones who drive off-peak hours.

EVERYONE should register here. It's so easy and you can easily leave private messages.

You would be in a pissy mood too if you're seating on hemorrhoids the size of oranges all day long

driving a bus in vancouver for a living would be hard not to burn out

driving in vancouver for a living in any way is not fun

Look at the overall increase in traffic density, and the increasing number of car drivers that drive badly.. ignoring the rules and common coutesy.

Bus drivers drive all day long, every day of their job. Its a wonder there isnt MORE accidents. Most bus drivers are very good drivers, but everyone has thier bad days.

On top of that.. they are on a hiring spree for the last few years. So many new hires... you are going to have an increase in fender benders until they all have more experience that is gained withh time.

  This report is scaremongering.

Thanks for the contribution Russ. Here's a convention of all the people who are interested in your point of view. Have a great day, you hear?

I'm with Russ on this one. Driving a bus all day is hard work, surprised there isn't more accidents then there already are.

 Agreed.
Though they hired a bunch of newbies in the 'burbs to drive the newer mini buses.  The licencing isn't as rigorous, so you'd better watch out for those guys!

yeah a newbie was on his first day driving yesterday when I was taking the bus back from the mall. poor kid, he did fine but probably was a wreck inside.
