sigh, my employer ask meto get training, and there's nothing I haven't done here yet in what's available, so she told me take anything you want. I would like to follow a one day course on webpage development. BCIT probably she said.

Hi Michel,

There are plenty of sites out there to start you on your way. I started with [A href="http://geocities.yahoo.com/"]http://geocities.yahoo.com/[/A] and have never looked back. Sign up for free then play around with it.

It also helps to know a bit of HTML language as well.

  This will help: [A href="http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp"]http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp[/A]

If you have access to Photoshop, you can start incorporating images and pictures into your website. Otherwise, save a couple of images onto your computer and put them on your site.

Best of luck. If you need any additional help, you can PM me and I'll try to help.

Thanks Lise. I have Photoshop Elements. I will check the links you posted. If you ever know a one day course for rookie in Van, just tell me. The boss pay and it give me the chance to be out of here for one day ! yeah !

Do you know a program (if possible for free) that forbid people to copy pics from a website ?

Hobbit

Some free web tools to help:

[A href="http://www.createforms.com/"]Html form maker[/A] - lets you make and host HTML or web forms without any programming

[A href="http://www.createsites.com"]Create Sites free tools[/A] - lets you create applications such as polls, etc.

[A href="http://www.createappointments.com"]Appointment Scheduling Webpage[/A] - lets you create a webpage without any programming to allow your customers / clients to book appointment with you online.

Hope some of these tools help. If you let me know the exact thing that you're trying to accomplish with HTML then maybe I can find some more targetted free web tools.

Thanks hobbit, basicaly, I would like to post pics on line so that people can have access to it but it would be impossible for anyone to copy those pics without permission (copyright). I think that there's a program called macroflash media that can do that (I can't remember the exact name of the program, but someone told me that many months ago). If I remeber well his explanation, when you pass the mouse on a thumbnail, the pic takes the entire screen, but you can't copy it, even with the right mouse button.

Sorry, but this is flatly impossible. If someone wants your image(s), they'll get them. No question about it, it is simply impossible to prevent anyone from copying images placed on the web.

No, the best you can do is make it slightly difficult, and that's it. By "slightly difficult" I mean it would take someone an extra 10 seconds to copy the image.
The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

Unless of course the 'someone' is me.

TehBorken ?  PM me with tips please ?

Yeah that's what I was thinking too since that's what my old sources of info told me. This woud be enough for me, those pics are not that important. It's just that I don't want to make people who try to live with photography lose money. There's so many "good" pic on the net (good in the eyes of the man on the street), that this profession has trouble now for the common usage. I know how serious amateurs can disturb the life of a pro. A simple deterrent that would stop 90 % of the "cheap" people out there, or worse the pseudo photographer who steal your work (that happened to me once) would be OK since these people anyway will look for another pic if it's too complicated to steal. Sure, I can put a copyright on the pic, but I don't like it, it look pretentious. And it's easy to cut anyway unless you ruined the entire pic by writing in the middle of it. I can use also a very bad resolution, but that's not fun either.  For now, I just don't know any way to post a potentially commercial level pic without making it reusable.

I saw some photo site for example, if you try to copy with the right button mouse click or to cut and paste a pic, a window appear informing you about the copyright or to contact the owner of the pic to get the permission to use it. That would be OK for me. If you know a program that can do that, it would be perfect.

Even with pics that are 'non-right-clickable'.....if you wanted the pic bad enough.....can't you just do a screen capture?  (I think I have )

I don't know how to do that, but since I know nothing about computer I'm quite sure that probably a lot of Internet geeks know how to do it. Does it keep the resolution of the pic?

Lol I'm curious PC, WHO WAS HIM ???

Oh, no him ? Ok I tought you did a screen capture of one of those hot guy from Hollywood, who knows, maybe Brad the Pit. lol

Lise

What commerical images are you talking about, Michel? Why not just go around and take pictures yourself, that way you will know that you're not doing anything illegal.

I may have some pictures. What do you need? (and don't say Russ goats. That's porn and it isn't allowed in here)
