Have BC, Oregon, and Washington unite, crazy. Although I must confess I had a dream where I was governor of Washington and succeded in succeding from the union and becoming a province in Canada.[/DIV]Oh well I guess I'm as crazy as these people.

Unbelievable it was Jefferson's idea.

The idea for an autonomous or independent Cascadian state first arose after [A title="Thomas Jefferson" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Jefferson"]Thomas Jefferson[/A] sent [A title="Lewis and Clark" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_and_Clark"]Lewis and Clark[/A] into the [A title="Pacific Northwest" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Northwest"]Pacific Northwest[/A] in 1803. Jefferson envisioned the establishment of an independent nation in the Western portion of the North American continent that he dubbed the "Republic of the Pacific". Jefferson's original idea has since been embraced by a number of different groups with generally similar aims.
