P.C.

It's no secret that my 'computer speak' ain't so good, but I really need some help (again).

I've spent the last 3 days working on a Windows Movie Maker 'production'.  Lots of fuss getting pics to fade in etc in keeping with the selected music. (especially when you do things in a 'hit or miss' manner....like I do)  I don't have a clear understanding of what I'm doing, but if I fuss around with it....the end results are usually good.

  NOW.....this is what I've done. [img style="CURSOR: pointer" onclick=url(this.src); src="http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/liebe/g038.gif" border=0]

I was cleaning up the file folders where I collect the pics for these things, so of course they are all in different locations.

HOW DO I GET THE DAMN THING TO FIND THEM ????  I SO don't want to start all over again.  Is there any function that will make the system restore put files back to their original location ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

my responce got eaten by the not logged in glitch...

so here goes

if you had the pictures in one original folder and have not renamed them why dont you just copy the pictures back to that folder....

if you deleted the folder create a new one and rename it to the old folder...

it is not that difficult

hold down ctrl to select multiple files...right click copy or cut to move them with out copying...

go to folder right click paste...

I would have thought that it was going to be that easy too.  I imported all the pics that I originally had, back into WMM, but it still wouldn't recognize them.  It's looking for the old 'path' I guess.  So I moved the folder back to it's original location and apparently THAT'S not good enough either.

There's got to be another way.

This is why I hate PCs...they are so dumb. If this was a mac, it would be so easy to correct, and no, you wouldnt have to start over.

kingy

if you right click on the picture in movie maker, there should be a 'browse for file'.

Sorry, can't help you there, PC. Good luck though.

Hmm...if you haven't started over, and I'm not sure if this will help, but: [a href="http://forum.videohelp.com/"]http://forum.videohelp.com/[/a]

If you don't see any threads there that ask the same question you have P.C., try posting a new thread asking for help (you'll have to register to post).
Good luck!

Wow....lots of info there !  Thanks Marik....I'll definitely be giving that a read.

This was the answer kingy.  I had that part figured out in the beginning and managed to bring them all back into the proper folder......but I couldn't get them back onto the timeline without losing the transitions and effects.  Anyways.....hubby figured it out and I didn't have to start all over again.

Thanks for all your suggestions and ideas.
