[/span] Gov. Charlie Crist is preparing to recommend that the controversial touch-screen voting machines used in Broward, Palm Beach and 13 other Florida counties be scrapped and replaced with optical scanners that would count paper ballots.

U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler, D-Boca Raton, said the governor would recommend spending at least $20 million on optical scanners for the 15 counties with touch-screen machines when he presents his proposed budget to the state Legislature on Friday.

Among these American heroes are whistle-blower Stephen Heller who suffered an onslaught of legal persecution from Los Angeles District Attorney Steve Cooley -- Diebold's dirty and corrupt bitch -- for exposing plans by Diebold to compromise elections in California. While the shameful corporate media whores -- who are clearly only in it for the money -- shamefully disseminated fascist lies hiding or misreporting one of the biggest threat against America's democracy in history, such ethical Americans as Bev Harris of [a  href="http://www.blackboxvoting.org"]www.blackboxvoting.org[/a], Brad Friedman of [a  href="http://www.bradblog.com"]www.bradblog.com[/a], and the investigative journalists (an almost extinct breed) at [a  href="http://www.therawstory.com"]www.rawstory.com[/a] courageously exposed the danger, often fighting lawsuits and even threats to their lives to do so.
