I usually don't read my husband's The Economist but this month's issue had an interesting article about this woman named Alice Lakwena who was visited by 'spirits' while she was visiting a waterfall or pond or river. One of the spirits was known as Lakwena and he was instrumental in her becoming a spokesman for an army of followers denouncing the wars in her homeland, Uganda.
Her works and 'divine' interpretation have often led to her being accused of witchcraft. She was often found ranting and having many different personalities at one time. Who knows what really happened?

The combined persona of Alice Auma channeling the spirit Lakwena is often referred to as Alice Lakwena.
