And what's better than a Frank Miller movie, eh?

We will stand and fight! A new age has begun. An age of freedom! And all will know that 300 Spartans gave their last breath to defend it!

This movie trailer actually sent shivers up my spine.

Always end the name of your child with a vowel, so that when you yell the name will carry.

Russ

uh, have you seen eragon yet?

No, unfortunately. I took another look at the trailer and thought, no, this isn't something I'll be rushing to the theatres to see. Kinda reminds me of Dungeons and Dragons.

But the Frank Miller one looks promising.

Ha! Well Im a D&D fan. Havent played it since I was like 12 or 13, but I still wish I could take the time to sit down and play.

I used to play those role-playing books. The board game... I tried once and wasn't into it. My husband had a whole collection when he was little. I guess when you're young, you have a vivid imagination. These days kids are more in tuned with their Wii or PS3 to really play boardgames. All the shame.

Speaking of D&D, have you seen the 2000 and 2005 (sequel)  movies? I've seen both. Not too bad if you don't have great expectations.

I agree with that all the way Lise. No more interest in actually playing teh games with their friends in person on a boardgame. Instead turning on the computer and Xbox. I hate that big time.

But, myself and SS sometimes with a few friends will sit down and have game nights. She just actually bought me a new boardgame that I appear to be hooked on... Settlers of Cattan. Anyone heard of it?

Nope. Never heard of that. RPG? Sounds like fun. What do you guys do? Get together and play dress up?

A stragedy game. Mmm. The last strategy game I played was Dune and I gotta say, I have no patience. I'm more into hack and slash, ask no questions.

Looks like an interesting game, Russ. Wikipedia says it might even come out on XBox. Woot!

I just noticed that myself when I was goolging and read the wikipedia one. I will probably get it as well. Hey! I just realized that with children like you have, you can kindve mentally justify spending money on lots of new games... cause its for THEM and not YOU right? nod nod wink wink?

I already got the expansion version for it so 5-6 players can play and not the 2-maybe 4 that it suggests with the original.

And if you do buy the game.. buy it online. Its ten dollars cheaper than anywhere you can buy it here for.

Thanks for the tip, Russ but we won't be having too much time playing games. Sad. Can't wait till the kids are older so we can have board games every Friday night or something like that.

We've got tons of boardgames already. My personal favorite is Guestures. (spelling?) Really silly game where you have to act out a word. Good for laughs.

Anyone else going to catch this movie? I'm going to watch it this weekend and I can't wait!

Yes!

I'm very much looking forward to it but I hope it will be leaps and bounds better than the D&D movies, which sucked donkey balls IMO. Jeremy Irons...Oh my lord, you have disgraced your family and a shaolin temple     :(
For thou art with me; thy cream and thy sugar they comfort me
Thou preparest a carafe before me in the presence of Juan Valdez
Thou anointest my day with pep; my mug runneth over
Surely richness and taste shall follow me all the days of my life
And I will dwell in the house of coffee forever.

Russ

lol, so am I lise.. on of my buddies had sneak preview tickets.. Im waiting to hear what he thought of it.

We are probably gonna go friday.

LOL. tenkani. Nicely put. Jeremy Irons hasn't had much luck with movies lately. He's one of the better actor and I think he can still pull his weight around but man, the movies he's chosen sucks big time. Have you seen in the Eragorn? It's enough to put all my dragons to shame.

Lemme know what your buddy think of it, Russ. I'm so excited. Blood, gore, violence, beautiful looking men in loin cloths........... damn. I think I just wet myself.
