"Evolution"- a Quicktime video on beauty that shows how they do it.  Reginald Pike's Tim Piper & Yael Staav take us from model to billboard  in under 60 seconds in this impressive new spot from Dove.

That's excellent.  I think Dove is really bold with their new strategy, and I like what they're doing.

I swear, the image on the left looks like oneof those mug-shots of a crack ho that the cops use as part of their anti drug campaigns.

I too applaud Dove for exposing the falsity of the images commonly used to sell "beauty" products. I found the post production edits in Photoshop to be illuminating as well- the neck-stretching, the eye-widening, etc. The finished "product" simply couldn't exist in real life without a ton of fakery.

I did some modelling many (many, many) moons ago.  There was far less editing and about  a gallon less make-up, but the 'deception' is the same.  While my friends and family referred to me as 'the bean pole', the fashion world saw things differently.  Too tall and too skinny became something else.  Even what was considered tall has changed...lol
