An Argentine artist has designed a line of sneakers called "Brincos" (from Spanish Brincar, to jump) for immigrants who are sneaking across the Mexican border:"

The shoe includes a compass, a flashlight because people cross at night, and inside is included also some Tylenol painkillers because many people get injured during crossing," Werthein says...An Aztec eagle is embroidered on the heel. On the toe is the American eagle found on the US quarter, to represent the American dream the migrants are chasing.[/p]A map - printed on the shoe's removable insole - shows the most popular illegal routes from Tijuana into San Diego.

I know they make shoes for every conceivable activity, but talk about specialisation!
Thousands of years ago cats were worshipped.  They have not forgotten.

Witch

It's a gimmick, designed to capiatalise on the current right wing paranoia over illegal immigrants.

I suspect the only people who you see wearing them will be Caliyuppies. I suspect the majority of sales will be to the reich wing (spelling? what spelling mistake) fearmongers who will buy them as props for their very lucrative speaking tours and propaganda machines. You know, to show people the horrific danger to the american way of life posed by a few Mexicans and a broken fence. I mean look how many Americans have died in that illegal war..... oops sorry, my mistake. I was confusing a manufactured danger with a real one for a moment. Won't happen again.

Good Times

Looks like a creative, humorous idea!

I'm guessing at Tijuana, or any other border town?
