I know this is a subject for DiscoverVancouver but I'm not in the mood to be flamed, handle jacked, etc.
Me and the wife are going to be celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary with a trip to Vancouver in June and I would like any recommendations for cheap fun and eats.
Specifically, any good vegetarian/vegan restaurants? (a gall-bladder issue means no fat and not too spicy)
Also, any cool little spots that should be seen off the beaten path? Events of note? Funky shops and stores? Is the New Amsterdam still running and operating as usual?

Hey, Future (& Prime, right?) this is a great organic joint in Kits-Point Grey. Not particularly cheap, but great food, nicely put together, staff are mostly in a pretty good space, etc. Clean place.  None of that  "..that's not dirt in your soup, that's earth.." attitude.

Another nice little spot, about a block away. Not organic, but cheap, pleasant & the food is great.

If you are visiting Vancouver it would be a good idea to bring your motor home because public toilets are not always readily available.

A friend of mine recommend this place for good vegetarian eats.

I recommend this restaurant if you're interested in pasta or pizza.
